Mercier Therapy

Mercier Therapy

Mercier Therapy is a deep pelvic visceral manipulation protocol that will help to bring about better organ mobility and restore overall blood flow so that optimal organ function can return.

Mercier Therapy has been in existence for over 16 years. Mercier Therapy was created to optimize health and wellbeing within the female pelvis by addressing scar tissue and decreased mobility of the reproductive structures.  Adhesions in the reproductive system may develop through a women’s lifetime as a result of abdominal, pelvic, hip or back surgery, endometriosis, use of an IUD, inflammatory conditions/infections, and most commonly with previous C-sections or D&Cs from miscarriages. This gentle and non-invasive technique is beneficial for women of all ages facing fertility challenges, pelvic pain, gynecological surgery recovery, or having gone through traumatic birth experiences, and is performed externally through the abdomen in order to reduce adhesions/increase blood flow in and around the organs, ligaments, muscles, joints, and structures of the pelvis, hips, and lower back.

Mercier therapy offers an alternative for those who do not want or cannot afford traditional medical treatments or those who would like to increase their chances of a successful medically assisted cycle. Mercier therapy offers hope for a more holistic, alternative approach to conceiving and has shown a high success rate of conception.

Hundreds of women have been helped to conceive gently and have prepared many other women to achieve better overall outcome with medically assisted cycles such as IVF. Mercier Therapy has also been paramount in helping serve women with pelvic pain and C section recovery. Mercier Therapy is practiced in the United States as well as 15 other countries worldwide.

Dr. Mercier conducted a six-year research study (2013 – 2018) which concluded an over 83% success rate of conception as a stand-alone program and an 87% success rate of conception when used along a medically assisted cycle. About Women’s Fertility

Mercier Therapy Compared to IVF

Unlike IVF, Mercier Therapy is non-invasive, more cost effective, has no long-term health consequences, and is often more emotionally supportive of the woman and her partner.

IVF is very costly. Many insurance plans do not cover infertility treatment. The exact total of a single IVF cycle varies, but may cost more than $12,000 to $17,000. Most women typically see success rates of 20-35% per cycle, but the likelihood of getting pregnant decreases with each successive round, while the fees continue to add up.

Did you know that Flex-Spending Account and Health Savings Account funds can be utilized for Mercier Therapy?  Many women have taken advantage of this facet.

According to the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART), the approximate chance of giving birth to a live baby after IVF is as follows:

  • 41% to 43% for women under age 35
  • 33% to 36% for women age 35 to 37
  • 23% to 27% for women ages 38 to 40
  • 13% to 18% for women age 41 and over

Dr. Mercier conducted a six year research study (2013 – 2018) which concluded an over 80% success rate of conception. For details on the statistics of Mercier Therapy and IVF, view our Article Abstract.
